A Holy Fear of Your Holy Name

This was the closing prayer poem from my Sunday School lesson titled Dangers of the Doctrines of Grace. November 7, 2021. First Chinese Baptist Church, Walnut, California.

A holy fear for your holy name –
That is our prayer, our God.

You discipline and love the same.
Your children, you adopt

Into your family. You give
Your Spirit and Your Word

To fight our sin, remain in faith,
And keep us reassured.

We’re born again! We’ve come undead!
We know this to be true:

That Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
Is Lord, and makes us new.
