In Suffering, Pain, or Sorrow

This was the closing prayer poem from my Sunday School lesson on Gentle and Lowly Ch. 15: His “Natural” Work and His “Strange” Work. April 17, 2022. First Chinese Baptist Church, Walnut, California.

In Suffering, Pain, or Sorrow

In suffering, pain, or sorrow

You afflict and discipline in love

Like a father shows compassion

To his children your heart is for us

Help us now to see that we will

Never have to fret, fear, or worry

Because your Son and sovereign grace

Is not against me but is for me.
