My Favorite Worship Song

Prayer and Proclamation
My favorite worship song is God is the Strength of My Heart and My Portion Forever. It's the song that I wrote for FCBC Walnut. It was during the pandemic and we were getting close to coming back. But I wrote it as a prayer to God and a proclamation of our trust in him. I have three reasons why it's my favorite song.

Lyrics
The first reason is because of the lyrics. The lyrics are from the Bible, but I did try to make them my own. And, and I do feel they're from my heart. And so when we're singing the words, they really are a part of me.

Music
The second reason why it's my favorite song is because of the music. I hope that it's not a boring or a basic song. But I tried to make it musically interesting. I feel like the words actually matched the music or the music matches the words. And I feel like it's it's me, like if you if you hear the music and you know my personality, and you know my musical leanings, it sounds like me. And I feel like it was a genuine musical moment that we can have together.

Church
The third reason why it's my favorite song is because we get to sing it here at church. I've been writing songs for a long time. And not every song we sing here at church, there's only a select few. And with this song, I felt that it was a song that the church can really take and we can all sing it together. I think that it's singable, and I think that that it's doable at her church. And I feel like we made it our own with their arrangements and with our worship team, and how we get to sing it and play it together. I guess. Personally, it means a lot to be up on the stage and know that hey, we're actually singing a song that, that that's ours. And so at that moment, I'm to hear the congregation sing it and when we participated, and when we participate with it together, it stops being my song, and it becomes our song.

A New Song to Sing
And I think that that's that's why it's my favorite, and it will continue to be my favorite. At least until I write a new song for us to sing.
