Thus Saith the Lord

God Does Not Take Back His Words.

A co-worker asked me if I could help her un-send an email. It got me thinking about my own writing and words – and the importance of treating them with care.

How Often I Regret My Words!

I’ve said careless words, hurtful words, childish words. We can be crude and cruel, cutting and conniving. We sometimes speak as serpents. Yes, there are times when we have words for the wind. But more often than not, our tongue is a fire.

Resolved to Use My Words for Good

To build others up. To stir up for good works. In my speaking, blogging, teaching, and texting – may my words be a balm and a blessing. To be like the Word of God is to use our words with precision and care.

Our God Does Not Take Back His Words

I was unable to help my co-worker un-send that email. We usually can’t take back the things that we say. I’m thankful for God who never retracts his words. He means every word he says. And his Word always proves true.
