Wash

This was the closing prayer poem from my sermon For to this End We Toil and Strive: Two Ways to Train as a Good Servant of God. March 17, 2024. First Chinese Baptist Church, Walnut, California. Watch an Instagram Reel where I read my prayer poem.

Wash

This prayer poem is about how the blood of Jesus makes our service acceptable while doing the will of God and not our own.

Wash my hands.

Wash my feet.

Wash my head.

Wash my knees.

So I can come

Before you Lord

And say I am

Forever yours.

I want to live

A godly life,

And learn to be

A sacrifice.

For from the lips

Of Jesus Christ

He said, “Your will

Be done, not mine.”

And on the cross

His blood made clean –

And from the grave

He set me free!

I raise my hands.

I rest my feet.

I lift my head.

I bow my knees.
