God with You helps teens find God’s peace in today’s anxious world. Edited by Cameron Cole, Chelsea Kingston Erickson, and Anna Meade Harris, this 52-week devotional is a wonderful resource for youth.
With devotions spanning the entire scope of Scripture, it helps teens become familiar with God’s Word while growing in their faith. The book is divided into 52 sections, each serving as a unit to guide you through a manageable Bible-reading plan of five readings per week. Each devotion is only a page long and is not meant to replace Scripture but to supplement what you are reading.
The Power of His Presence
The glory of God is not dumbed down in these devotions. In a devotion on Isaiah 40, Ashley Kim wonderfully writes about waiting for rest—whether it’s getting out of class or graduating—and finding our ultimate and final source of strength and hope in Jesus. Faith Chang writes about “fail” videos and relates them to Peter’s betrayal in John 18:15–27, showcasing how Jesus is faithful even in our failures. Connie Leung Nelson writes about influencers and the wisdom that can only come from God, as shown in 1 Kings 3:6–9.
While the devotions remain approachable for teens, what I appreciated most was how they are all examples of really good writing. Each contributor is clear and succinct, with attention-grabbing introductions and memorable illustrations. The devotions cover everything from first jobs and first concerts to making mistakes and making friends. This book will disciple youth with daily doses of God’s Word and the power of his presence in their lives.
