How to Lead Your Family

In How to Lead Your Family, Joel R. Beeke provides a guide for men who desire to grow as leaders in their homes.

This short yet powerful book was a quick punch in the gut! Beeke shows from the Bible how men are called to be like Jesus in their roles as prophet (proclaiming God’s Word by teaching it in speech and conduct), priest (making sacrifices of love and interceding), and king (exercising authority by leading, loving, disciplining, and defending) within their families. It speaks clearly to a man’s role as both husband and father.

Leading in the Lord

I was most challenged by Beeke’s teaching on leading as a king. Contrary to what our world tells us, the king of the family is Christlike—a humble servant-king who wields authority for the good of others. Self-sacrifice for the sake of my family is a huge area in which I can grow. I also want to foster more spiritual conversation in the home, not only when we’re talking with the kids or leading our small group.

This is a book that every husband, father, and man of God should read. Convicting and challenging, How to Lead Your Family will encourage men to lead their families in the Lord.
