The One Story Bible traces the thread of redemption throughout God’s Word. This Bible will help you avoid losing the forest for the trees. It will help you find your way through God's Word.

This is a Bible you’ll want to read cover to cover. With over 900 notes by Pastor Greg Gilbert, it helps you see the big picture of Scripture—God’s redemptive plan from the very beginning and His sovereign hand over it all until the end.

The notes are written from a pastoral perspective, with a tone that is both kind and trustworthy. Gilbert acts as your personal guide, holding a compass to the text, and I found his notes to be placed at just the right points in the text.

Connected in Christ

When I started reading Isaiah, the book introduction provided just enough background to set the stage and whet my appetite. The notes in the Gospel of John were equally impressive, helping me make sense of the theological themes throughout the book.

These notes are not study notes. They are weaved within the text, serving as markers to keep you on track with the story, especially in setting the context of each book and showing where you are in the larger narrative of Scripture. I even used the notes in Isaiah to confidently explain the context while teaching Sunday School.

I first read the Bible in full around college, so I recommend this Bible for collegians and young adults. But I also recommend it for busy parents, and anyone who wants to get lost (and be found) in God's Word. It will help you see how Christ is the connection running through it all.
