The Promise of Life

How can you explain the big ideas of death and life to your children? How can you point them to Christ? In The Promise of Life, Jonny Atkinson shares a big story about God’s law.

Slaves to Sin

This book is divided into 8 parts to tell the overarching themes of how the Bible speaks about the big idea of life. In Part 1 and Part 2, life with God and the promise of life are introduced along with Adam and Abraham.

Part 3 and Part 4 speaks of the loss of life and the witness to life - telling of the temple and the curse of the law. The book makes a point to say that the Israelites were slaves to sin - and this was a serious problem.

The Gift of Life

Jesus enters the story in Part 5, the gift of life. In Part 6, the Christian life is described as living a better way where God writes his law of love on his people’s hearts.

Part 7 tells of our future life with God, and Part 8 invites the readers to trust in Jesus for the gift of life with God. This will enable us to be set free from sin to love God and love others.

Law and Life

The illustrations by Timmy Marsee help connect the dots and tie the entire narrative together. They have a sketch-book feel, but are polished in gorgeous colors. God’s people are shown to have beautiful dark skin tones and hair.

This book will help your children understand the concepts of law and life in an engaging way. You will be enveloped in the storyline of Scripture, with beautiful illustrations to help you see. These pages will point you to Jesus – and in him your children will find Life itself.
