In None Like Him, Wilkin helped me feel the greatness of God. Even as a preacher and teacher familiar with the concepts of God’s incommunicable attributes, she made them feel fresh (no matter how cliché her introductory and concluding verses may be, haha) and impressed their weight on my heart. God is limitless—unable to be fully known.

Wilkin is a wonderful writer, able to declare the truths of God through relatable perspectives. I was inspired to preach and teach more about God’s greatness and how He is above all. Lacking self-worth and significance is not my problem—rather, it is a lack of awe. While the books are written for women, I loved and was blessed by every bit.

In His Image

In In His Image, Wilkin teaches that we must first ask, “Who should I be?” before asking, “What should I do?” She calls us to be holy, to hate sin, and to pursue sanctification. What I loved most was that Wilkin does not water down God’s communicable attributes; she presents them with the same glory as His incommunicable attributes.

I was especially moved reading about the patience of God. Christ endured patiently with sinners, in His circumstances, and in His sufferings. I learned to wait on God and to remember, trust, and hope in the truth that He is not yet finished. To be an image-bearer of God is an honor, but also a pursuit. Together, these books will help you see who God is and grow to become more like Him.
