Understanding & Trusting Our Great God

Who is God, and is he good? In Understanding & Trusting Our Great God, Tim Challies will help you know and love God more.

The second entry in his Words from the Wise series, this devotional book features quotes from some of Christianity’s most influential voices. Jules Koblun’s graphic design is delightful, fixed against inspiring imagery. Paired with Challies’ spiritual insights, the book is beautiful and an engaging experience.

Who God Is

The book is divided into seven chapters, each looking at a different aspect of God: (1) God Is, (2) God is Wise, (3) God is Powerful, (4) God is Holy, (5) God is Just, (6) God is Good, and (7) God is True. You will walk away with a bigger picture of God, with greater confidence in his character.

Reading the quotes caused me to marvel at how much truth could be contained in a single sentence. It made me thankful for the faithful pastors, teachers, and leaders who use their words to point us to God. I was challenged to be bold when it comes to communicating what we believe.

Know Him Personally

Challies’ words are also filled with wisdom. Sometimes he explains the quotes, while other times he expands on them. He brings in Scripture, and you can sense that Challies doesn’t just know God theoretically — but personally. This book will help you do the same.

Understanding & Trusting Our Great God is a beautiful devotional book that will lead you to think deeply and clearly about God.
