What Jesus Started

In What Jesus Started, Ellen Vaughn writes about the world-changing power of the local church. Through stories and testimonies from around the world, Vaughn shows that the power of the gospel is still at work, changing lives today.

Throughout the book, Vaughn demonstrates that the work of the Holy Spirit is not confined to the pages of the book of Acts but continues to reach and transform lives in our own time. Her stories offer a compelling reminder that God is still at work through ordinary churches and ordinary believers to accomplish extraordinary things for his kingdom.

What God is Doing

What I loved most about this book is that, while it motivates readers toward missions, it does not neglect the importance of the local church. Instead, it renewed my excitement for my own local community. Vaughn encourages us to ask God who he would have us be and what he would have us do in our churches and communities. Missions does not have to mean looking somewhere else. It can begin right where God has placed us.

There were several moments when Vaughn’s writing moved me to tears as I considered what God is doing so powerfully around the world today. What Jesus Started is an inspiring book that will open your eyes to see the ways God is working through his people and will challenge you to consider how you might faithfully join him in the work he is already doing.
