God Answers Prayer

Three Personal Updates After the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Many of my plans for this year were prevented during the COVID-19 pandemic, but God seemed to have his own purposes and goals. I’ve been hinting and alluding to these personal updates across my social media, but now is the time to just come right out and say it.

I consider these changes to be the three big events that happened to me during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s probably how I will remember this time throughout my life. This post will serve as a personal update to my readers, but also as a memorial stone to God for his overflowing faithfulness and continual kindness in answered prayers.

1. God gave us a baby.

Jess and I have been hoping to grow our family, and God answered our prayers in providing us a baby. Jess is full-term pregnant, and our baby girl is expected to arrive very soon.

We’ll be busy with three kids under three years old, and I’m anticipating a short break from my usual content to bond with our baby. The first few weeks are always a special time, and we can’t wait to meet her.

2. God gave us a house.

With the growth of our family, we’ve been looking for a bigger home. After some searching, we decided to move to Jess’ hometown of Walnut, California. We’re now in the same city as our home church, and are blessed to be able to design and build something new.

As our house is getting ready, we’re currently living with my parents. I’m learning new creative patterns and adjusting to being back. We’re grateful for their help but are excited to have a place to call our own.

3. God gave me a job.

My love for books has allowed me many opportunities, but I never would have dreamt I would be able to work in the publishing industry. I just started a new position at Cruciform Press, and I can’t imagine a better fit.

As a smaller company, I’m getting an efficient education in the business of books. We’re still working out my roles and we don’t know how long they’ll need my assistance, but I’m grateful for the chance. I’m still working my regular jobs – so I’ll be a bit busy – but I’m eager and excited to get started.

Three New Prayer Requests

With these answered prayers, I now have three new prayer requests to share. First, would you please pray for the safe birth of our baby girl? We don’t take the miracle of life for granted, and we would love to have our delivery covered with prayer. Next, would you pray for God’s blessing upon our home? There are many frustrations that come while working with the city, and we want this to be a fair and productive process. Finally, would you pray for wisdom in my work? I need God’s guidance and strength.

COVID-19 has brought new challenges, but our hope holds in our God who doesn’t change. He hears our prayers. He calms our fears. And his sovereign plans will always prevail.
