The Gospel Way Catechism for Kids
The Gospel Way Catechism for Kids is a wonderful resource for helping children build a strong biblical foundation through a clear and engaging question-and-answer format. I love using catechisms to learn biblical truth, and this book does an excellent job of presenting foundational Christian doctrine in a way that is understandable for children while still being meaningful for adults.
One of my favorite features is that every answer includes the full text of a key Scripture passage, along with additional references for further study. The explanation section is what I appreciated most. It expands on each answer in a way that is easy to understand and could easily serve as a short devotional for children.
The questions cover a wide range of important topics, from the nature of God and the person of Christ to identity, the church, and eternity. I especially appreciated seeing questions like, “What does the ascension tell us about Jesus?”, “What is the unseen world?”, “What happens when we die?”, and “What happens to those who oppose God?”
Deeper Knowledge and Love for God
The Table Talk discussion questions and Prayer Practice at the end of each chapter encourage meaningful conversations as a family or in a Sunday school classroom while helping children respond to what they’ve learned in prayer. These features make it an excellent tool for family devotions.
The book itself is beautifully designed, with vibrant colors and engaging illustrations that make it inviting to read. Even though it’s written for children ages 8–12, I found myself eager to continue reading because it helped me think through how to explain foundational truths in simple, faithful ways.
The Gospel Way Catechism for Kids will teach your children what Christians believe but also help them understand why those truths matter, encouraging conversations that point young hearts toward a deeper knowledge and love of God.
