The King and the Dragon

The King and the Dragon is a picture book for kids ages 3–5 that celebrates God’s ultimate victory over sin and death. Written by James Shrimpton, a tale of dragon-slaying is presented with the Biblical narrative in mind. Clever rhymes will keep your children interested and help them follow along.

What I loved most was how the simple tale conveys the Biblical storyline. The big themes of The King (God), the knight (Jesus), the dragon (evil), and the kingdom are on full display. It puts the core Biblical drama at center stage.

Victory Over Evil

The illustrations by Helena Pérez Garcia have a classical yet modern feel. Red, orange, and yellow colors help give a warm, earthy tone to the book. There is an elegance to the art to match the beautiful story of redemption.

This is a story that will unlock child-like wonder. Undeniably fun and exciting, reinforce and celebrate with your family the Lord’s final victory over evil.
